Scott Garner Co-Authors OC Lawyer Article “Ethics 2.0: A Snapshot of the Revamped Rules of Professional Conduct”

Umberg Zipser’s (U/Z) Scott B. Garner co-authored an article in OC Lawyer, September 2018, “Ethics 2.0: A Snapshot of the Revamped Rules of Professional Conduct” to discuss some of the more note-worthy changes that are to be expected in the revised Rules of Professional Conduct, which will go into effect November 1, 2018.

The new set of rules were proposed by the State Bar and approved by the California Supreme Court on May 10, 2018. The rules can best be described as a hybrid between the current California Rules of Professional Conduct and the ABA Model Rules.

Scott has served as a member of the California State Bar’s Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct from 2011-16, and served as the Committee’s Chair from 2014-15.
