The September issue of OC Lawyer includes an interview by Dean Zipser of long-time client David Harshman, Vice President of Legal and Administration, General Counsel, and Secretary of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. The interview, “Engineering the Law In-House” includes highlights of David’s career and his insights into the challenges and rewards of serving as in-house counsel.
According to David, “The greatest challenge for me has been a constant mantra to be more efficient, do more with less, save costs, but yet effectively deliver legal services. I think this is the same at most companies. . . . For me, the greatest rewards are knowing that you make a difference helping people be successful in the business, and is some cases make a big difference (on the positive side of course).”
